For once, I will spend some more words. And this is because I feel my new Russian experience has facts that cannot be explained only with images. It is a kind of a more complicated, and newer, reality to be explained visually. And it is changing so fast, not to mention that I am not so confident with St. Petersburg city yet to find my shooting spots to represent what is going on. Sorry to say that St. Petersburg is not a gay friendly city. Despite a growing indie music sub culture and emerging art galleries, the event of fining gay promotion is a symptom that the old governing class is still trying to pressure down any "too" open apertures to the liberalized world, economically, culturally and sexually.

This photo has been taken in front of a flat in Hong Kong of a very good Nordic friend some days before leaving to my trip in South Asia.

Today is another leaving day being about to leave my hometown near Venice to be back in Milan and move to Copenhagen.

Today I decided to be a bit back to the traditional narrative cut adding to my photos more text. It comes after a reading of "Diario Minimo" of Umberto Eco and a nice conversation with a friend along the swimming pool in a boiling summer Sunday afternoon. Considering that the viewer plays a dominant role in interpreting pictures, it has to be guided by the author in order not to mislead its intention. Otherwise, the observer would create its own image of the world exploiting the depicted one. Moreover, I am going to use more this blog as a personal diary on my life in Denmark.
