Another leaving day
Welcome mat, Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong, December 2009
This photo has been taken in front of a flat in Hong Kong of a very good Nordic friend some days before leaving to my trip in South Asia.
Today is another leaving day being about to leave my hometown near Venice to be back in Milan and move to Copenhagen.
Today I decided to be a bit back to the traditional narrative cut adding to my photos more text. It comes after a reading of "Diario Minimo" of Umberto Eco and a nice conversation with a friend along the swimming pool in a boiling summer Sunday afternoon. Considering that the viewer plays a dominant role in interpreting pictures, it has to be guided by the author in order not to mislead its intention. Otherwise, the observer would create its own image of the world exploiting the depicted one. Moreover, I am going to use more this blog as a personal diary on my life in Denmark.

Petit bout de choux
Rice Terraces, Yuanyang, South Yunnan, PPR China. - December 2009
In Italy, it used to be said that babies are "born under the cabbage" to explain kids where children came from without touching sexuality. It is the equivalent in English of "to have a bun in the oven". This italian expression is not so far from reality in Chinese villages.

Robin B
Robin B, Mido Cha Cha Teng in Temple St, YMT, Hong Kong, PPR China - January 2010
My last dinner in Hong Kong with my soul and art mate in the time spent there. I will always be so grateful to him for the quality time spent together, for our growing up moment, for the travel, for the fun, for our weird stories, for everything. A true friend in such a little time. Telling me that he might come to visit at the end of June changed my end of May in a better way.
